Target redness. Fade sun damage. Reveal clearer skin.
Using the advanced Cynosure Icon IPL system, this non-invasive treatment targets brown spots, sun damage, facial redness, broken capillaries and uneven skin tone. IPL helps restore a clearer, brighter and more balanced complexion with minimal downtime and natural-looking results.
What it is
IPL, also known as Intense Pulsed Light or a photofacial, is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses controlled pulses of light to improve visible discoloration. It can target unwanted brown pigment, sun damage, redness and small visible blood vessels without surgery or significant downtime.
IPL is commonly used on the face, neck, chest and hands to improve overall skin clarity and create a smoother, more even-looking complexion.
How It Works
IPL delivers carefully selected wavelengths of light into the skin. The light is absorbed by unwanted pigment and visible blood vessels while limiting its effect on the surrounding tissue.
Pigmented spots may temporarily darken before naturally flaking or fading. Visible redness and small vessels gradually become less noticeable as the body processes the treated tissue. This process helps reveal clearer, brighter and more evenly toned skin.
What to Expect
Treatments typically take 20–45 minutes depending on the area being treated. During the session, you may feel a brief warm snapping sensation. Mild redness, warmth or swelling may occur afterward, but most patients return to normal activities immediately.
Brown spots may become darker for several days before beginning to fade. Improvements develop gradually, and a series of treatments may be recommended depending on your skin concerns and treatment goals.
IPL cannot be performed on recently tanned skin. Daily sunscreen and avoiding excessive sun exposure before and after treatment are important for achieving safe, consistent results.
